"Loved everything about dining at Clarence - our server was really lovely, artwork is literally the cutest I’ve ever seen, and food was just perfect. Especially enjoyed the Singapore mud crab snack, witlof salad and scotch steak. I will be raving about this place to my friends and family!!"

"Came here for my birthday dinner and it was 5 stars all round! Great atmosphere and lovely service from Ottie and the team. We originally looked at the 3-course meal but decided to go with a few appetizers, an entree, a shared main, and two sides instead. It was the perfect amount of food, leaving us feeling satisfied but not bloated. Every dish was excellent, with the only minor exception being the fries with curried ketchup. They were a bit underwhelming compared to the rest (still good, just a bit of an "Oh..." moment). Overall a fantastic night."

"4.5 ⭐ Professionalism on show through their open kitchen, which is amplified by their brilliant culinary delights. We had a seat by the bar overlooking the kitchen and we saw pure professionalism and organisation that was headed up by the head chef. Food was fantastic, with a theme of cherries running through their entrees and main meals. We will come back and sample more of their mains. Thanks for a serendipitous surprise."

"Went to Clarence (Brisbane City) before a show at QPAC and it was a perfect pre-theatre option. They offer earlier seatings (we booked 5pm) and it’s an easy walk back to QPAC, about 5 minutes. It’s very well-rated and had been recommended to me, and I can see why. The space is beautiful, light-filled, comfortable seating, and the service was a standout. The team were warm, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable. We had someone gluten free at the table and they handled it confidently and helpfully. Food-wise, the menu is good but fairly limited, and definitely leans into more adventurous flavour combinations (in a good way). My kingfish with sesame and raspberry was interesting and inventive, and I like a restaurant that pushes the envelope. Oysters were fresh and shucked on site (from what I could see), though I didn’t love the granita on top. The octopus was cooked perfectly with that char-grilled flavour, and the king prawns and sauce were absolutely delicious… but they weren’t cleaned (the vein was still in), which threw me a bit and I had to work past it. Cocktails are bold and very strong, so pace yourself. I didn’t love the duck fat old fashioned (not bad, I’ve just had better), but I appreciated the creativity. Honestly, one of my favourite parts was the fresh bread and homemade butter at the start, so simple and so good. Would I race back immediately? Maybe not straight away, but I’m glad I tried it and I can see why people rate it highly."

"Tucked quietly on a charming street, Clarence restaurant had long piqued our curiosity. After several passing moments, we finally decided to step inside, and we’re pleased to say, it was more than worth the wait. We began our journey with a white peach gazpacho, the vibrant coolness of summer encapsulated in a bowl. The refreshing, slightly tangy peach broth, accompanied by rich jamon iberico and delicate potato chips, was a revelation. A second round of chips followed, of course, because there’s something deeply satisfying about dipping them into the gazpacho, it’s a vibe, as the kids say. Next, the wild kingfish, presented alongside a pairing of raspberry, white soy, and ginger, balanced the delicate brininess of the fish with a surprising pop of sweet tart fruitiness. It was a harmonious blend; refreshing, bold, and entirely unexpected in the best way possible. The market fish, a line-caught red snapper arrived with dill pickle butter and new potatoes. The silky texture was elevated by the dill pickle butter, which added a sharp, herby richness, making this dish both comforting and sophisticated. But the real showstopper was the magra lamb saddle; a perfectly executed cut, nestled beside a silky caramelised onion tart, earthy asparagus, and pickled shiitake. Each element, in harmony, showcased the brilliance of simplicity done right. The lamb was, hands down, the finest we’ve had in recent memory; juicy, tender, drawing out its natural flavors. Then came the dry-aged duck, a dish that wasn’t part of our original order so it came on the house. With cherry, zucchini, and a punch of yuzu kosho, it was the epitome of balance; smoky and sweet. So good we’ll return for it. On the beverage front, the Mr Clean cocktail and ginger beer were the perfect companions. The true icing on the cake, however, was the staff. Rarely does one encounter such effortless grace and attentive service. They were more than just servers; they were guides, anticipating our needs before we even realized them. This level of intuition and warmth is a rare gift and it elevated the entire experience. In summary, Clarence is a celebration of food, people, and the joy of sharing a meal. Thank you team for a truly memorable evening. We’ll be back for all of it: the happy hour, the Sunday roast, and of course, the vibe."

"We treated ourselves to the Sunday Lunch Roast, and it absolutely exceeded expectations. For $75 per person, this is exceptional value and one of the best dining deals in Brisbane. The meal kicks off with a generous selection of three incredible shared entrées (yes, you get to enjoy all three!), setting a delicious tone right from the start. Then comes the star: the weekly changing roast, served with an abundance of trimmings. We had the beautifully cooked Wagyu Beef Rump – tender, flavoursome, and perfectly roasted. The highlight for me? Those incredible roast potatoes cooked in beef fat – crispy, golden, and utterly addictive. To finish, we shared two delightful desserts, rounding out a perfectly balanced and satisfying three-course experience. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely excellent. They handled my gluten-free requirements effortlessly, making small tweaks without any fuss. It was my birthday, and the thoughtful touch of a handwritten birthday card waiting at our table when we arrived made the day feel extra special. The restaurant itself has a lovely relaxed, casual vibe that’s welcoming and unpretentious, and the friendly staff elevated the whole experience even further. Highly recommend for a leisurely Sunday lunch, special occasions, or anyone craving a proper roast done right. We’ll definitely be back!"

"Amazing food - fine dining, but with a lovely down to earth team. Can see the freshest quality ingredients were used, and that meticulous effort was made to ensure that the best flavours were brought out. Lucky that they've moved right under our apartments, can certainly see us making excuses to come again!"
